The popular chocolate brand will be introducing the Snickerdoodle flavour later this year.
A Twix distributor revealed the bars will feature a “snickerdoodle-flavoured cookie,” but didn’t confirm if the texture will match the classic treat.
Despite the announcement of a potential combo between two fan-favourite snacks, chocolate lovers remain unconvinced.
The new Twix-flavoured bars were shared on Facebook but received mixed reactions from shoppers.
One user wrote: “Cinnamon is overrated.”
“Shame it’s cinnamon, the snicker part would be nice,” another commented.
However, this chocolate fan admitted they “can’t wait” to try the new Twix bar.
There is currently no information on the exact date shoppers can grab the new flavoured chocolate, but fans can expect it soon, according to Sporked.
Twix isn’t the only popular chocolate brand to introduce a new flavor to its collection.
The creator of the iconic hazelnut cocoa treat, Nutella, whipped up a new spread for the first time in over six decades.
Named Nutella Peanut, it marks the first new variation in the brand’s 61-year history.
hazelnut spread with the delicious taste of roasted peanuts,” Ferrero shared in a statement.
It was created specifically for the US market, where there is strong consumer demand for peanut-flavoured products.
Peanut consumption among Americans has spiked over the last 20 years, peaking during the pandemic, per USDA data cited by The Peanut Institute.
Ferrero hopes that the new spread, which took five years to create, will help further propel the company’s growth in the US.
The product will roll out on retail shelves next spring, and shoppers are already being cautioned about how to view the new spread – it is not a competitor to peanut butter and will still have the unique hazelnut and chocolate flavors of Nutella.
“We didn’t want it to be another peanut butter,” Gonzalez told the Tribune. “There’s a reason why cocoa is still connected as a peanut-and-cocoa formula, instead of just peanuts. It’s more afternoon snacking than lunch, for example.”
Nutella Peanut will be manufactured in Illinois at a $75 million factory where Ferrero produces other products with peanuts, such as Butterfinger and Baby Ruth.
It comes after a new flavor of M&Ms hit the shelves with foodies claiming it’s “100 times better than the original”.
And if you’re a candy lover, you won’t want to miss out on this.
