Incident response startup BreachRx Inc. today announced that it has raised $15 million in new funding to scale up its go-to-market and engineering teams.
Founded in 2017, BreachRX is a cybersecurity company that offers an intelligent incident response platform designed to provide operational resilience across the entire enterprise. The company’s technology automates the creation of tailored incident response plans and guides stakeholders through every phase of an incident, ensuring compliance and protecting executive leadership from personal liability.
The company’s platform offers a centralized workspace for all teams involved in incident response, including security, legal, compliance and communications teams. The platform delivers real-time collaboration by clearly defining what roles, responsibilities, timelines and requirements are in the event of a breach, to make sure that every team member knows exactly what to do and when to do it. The idea is that by coordinating the response, costs are reduced and efficiency is increased during incident management.
Among the platform’s features is its integration of privileged communication channels and audit trails, which help organizations maintain compliance with rapidly evolving standards and regulations. One service, called BreachRx’s Cyber RegScout, offers a library of global cybersecurity, privacy and data breach laws, allowing teams to quickly identify applicable regulations and required actions during an incident.
Back in March, BreachRX launched Rex AI, a generative artificial intelligence engine that enhances the platform’s capabilities by delivering intelligent, real-time recommendations to streamline incident response processes. Rex AI helps with tasks such as generating incident response plans, providing actionable insights and ensuring accurate reporting, allowing incident responders to focus on critical actions rather than administrative tasks.
The company claims more than 100 customers, including publicly traded Fortune 500 companies in financial services, technology, healthcare and critical infrastructure. Notable customers include Coinbase Global Inc., Commvault Systems Inc., Dashlane Inc., Zoominfo Technologies Inc. and American Express Co.
The Series A round was led by Ballistic Ventures, with SYN Ventures, Overline VC and Silver Buckshot Ventures also participating.
“The most forward-thinking CISOs understand that cyberattacks and breaches are events that companies must manage with effective command and control,” said Kevin Mandia, general partner at Ballistic Ventures and the former chief executive of Google LLC-owned cybersecurity company Mandiant. “Every company should consider how to prepare for and manage through a cyber incident – and BreachRx empowers companies to both plan and execute through cyber events in a manner that promotes far more effectiveness and resilience.”
