Xpeng Motors will sell a redesigned version of its P7 sports sedan in July or August that the electric vehicle maker hopes will revive sales of its flagship model and attract customers from rival offerings such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla Model 3. The all-new P7 will be the first complete revamp of its hot-selling sedan in six years with an estimated starting price of RMB 300,000 ($41,580), featuring a vision-based, camera-centric approach to advanced driver assistance functions and powered by its in-house designed Turing AI chip.

Releasing images of a silver sporty coupe-sedan on May 15, Xpeng claimed the all-new P7 would blend cutting-edge technologies and AI-powered luxury into a sleek and futuristic form. On the exterior, it has an aerodynamic design with a distinctive full-width LED light bar in front and rear as well as an electric tail wing. Xpeng said its cabin space would be smaller than the family-focused and more affordable P7+. Xpeng delivered 60,569 P7 sedans in 2021, accounting for more than 60% of its total shipments, although that number has been declining in more recent years amid growing competition from bigger rivals such as Tesla and Xiaomi.
