We’re not going to dance around it: the Bravia 5 is a luxury purchase, at a retail price of $6,499.99. But for that amount you get one of the absolute best displays on the market, a massive screen that delivers mini-LED backlighting for tremendous contrast and color pop, fast refresh rates for PS5 Pro gaming, and minimal light bloom. A pair of HDMI 2.1 ports give you 120Hz input from current-generation consoles. Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound round out the package.

Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive is tech derived from their line of pro editing monitors, ensuring cinema-quality images without color blocking and artifacts. Like many other TV manufacturers, Sony is doing AI upscaling and picture adjusting with their latest models, but the Bravia 5’s XR Clear Image algorithms focus on minor adjustments like missing textures, so you’ll barely notice it.

For your bonus TV, the X90L is a solid overall performer from the last generation of screens. Released in 2023, it still holds up well, with bright and realistic colors, smooth motion and Full Array LED backlighting. It’s just a little less granular than the Bravia 5, but the smaller screen minimizes the impact. Built-in sound positioning tweeters enable Acoustic Multi-Audio for surprisingly dynamic stereo sound. Both sets come with the Google TV streaming platform, which is a seamless way to get to all your favorite content, as well as Sony’s bespoke Sony Pictures Core streaming in IMAX quality.

If budget isn’t an issue for you, this is an absolutely unbeatable deal that’ll have you set up for multi-room movies, sports, gaming and more for at least a decade to come.
