Introduction

Hey there, I’m Konstantin! My passion for software development started super young—I wrote my first program at just eight years old. That spark led me on an amazing journey, from developer to launching Redwerk and, a decade later, QAwerk. My enthusiasm stems from my love for technology and the management experience I’ve built in various roles, from startups to big names like Nokia.

1. What is your company in 2–5 words?

Konstantin Klyagin: Fortune 500’s tech partner

2. Why is now the time for your company to exist?

Despite all the breakthroughs in AI, plenty of companies still haven’t undergone a full digital transformation and are severely lagging technologically, especially in conservative industries like manufacturing, agriculture, construction, mining, and mineral processing. These companies are still relying on obsolete spreadsheets pulling data from disconnected, often outdated systems. This leads to crippled operations and significant revenue loss through manual, inefficient workflows.

At Redwerk, we’re not just a software development company; we are the catalysts of change. We help businesses adopt next-gen technologies, unlocking increased profitability and new revenue streams. We enable them to move forward without needing a massive upfront investment in building a large in-house IT department—we become the department. Whether it’s integrating legacy systems with cutting-edge solutions or executing a full-blown digital overhaul, we provide long-lasting peace of mind and a tangible ROI that outlasts the project lifecycle.

To be honest, there’s always a need for dependable tech partners. The demand for agile, experienced software developers who can navigate complex industries remains high.

3. What do you love about your team, and why are you the ones to solve this problem?

The unbeatable team spirit, great flexibility, and confidence that they will have each other’s backs. At Redwerk, we put a lot of effort into ensuring the people we hire are a great cultural fit. We believe that the best results come when we act as true partners to our clients, and this long-term collaboration is where we shine. We have clients who have been with us for over 5 and 9 years, a testament to the lasting, deep-rooted trust we build.

We hire people who don’t need constant supervision, who understand that each project is a long-term commitment to excellence, and who remain engaged throughout the journey, building credibility and earning trust over time. This isn’t just work to us; it’s a shared mission to achieve something meaningful together.

4. If you weren’t building your startup, what would you be doing?

I can’t imagine my life without technology.

If I weren’t immersed in building innovative software solutions, I’d likely venture into hardware development, focusing on next-gen drones or even space exploration rovers. Fun fact: Merrimac, a US company that developed parts for NASA rovers, was one of our first Redwerk clients. We created an internal workflow automation solution that helped streamline their operations—one of the earliest glimpses of our future-driven mindset.

5. At the moment, how do you measure success? What are your metrics?

Our success is directly linked to the transformational outcomes of our clients’ experience. When our clients win industry awards, undergo acquisitions, and see growth in their key business metrics, such as expanding their user bases, it indicates we’re on the right track. More than half, about 65%, of our initial projects evolve into long-term partnerships, underscoring that our services significantly benefit our clients’ projects, and they rely on us for sustained growth.

6. In a few sentences, what do you offer to whom?

Redwerk offers bespoke software development services to businesses across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. For each project, we assemble a dedicated, cross-functional team, overseen by a Project Manager who ensures seamless communication, monitors progress, and guarantees that milestones are met on time.

We help businesses transform their entire digital infrastructure, developing robust, scalable products that grow with them. From initial concept and planning to development, testing, and deployment, we’re with our clients every step of the way. Additionally, we offer in-depth code reviews and comprehensive Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) audits to ensure that their software is not just functional but future-ready.

7. What’s most exciting about your traction to date?

Since 2005, Redwerk has helped over 170 businesses in 22 countries successfully launch new products, boost growth through digital transformation, and future-proof their software with comprehensive code reviews and security audits.

  • Global impact: 773M people worldwide use solutions we’ve developed.

  • Customer engagement: 70% of our customers recommend Redwerk to their friends and business partners.

  • Partnerships: We’ve worked with big names like Squarespace, Siemens, and Universal Music Group.

  • Positive feedback: We hold a 4.9 out of 5-star rating on GoodFirms and 4.5 out of 5 stars on Clutch and consistently receive positive feedback from our clients.

  • Team: We’ve organically grown from 3 to 90 employees.

  • Market validation: For the second consecutive year, IAOP has recognized Redwerk as a top 100 outsourcing provider.

8. Where do you think your growth will be next year?

We anticipate more projects where AI will be a core functionality, such as building AI agents to further automate some repetitive workflows at scale. As businesses look for ways to optimize operations with AI, strategic experts who understand how to integrate this new technology into real-world systems will be in high demand.

At Redwerk, we’re perfectly poised to help businesses choose the optimal tech stack to establish a solid foundation and avoid costly rework in the future. We also expect a growing demand for blockchain-based solutions. For the last few years, we’ve been honing in-house expertise in these areas for these specific reasons.

9. Tell us about your first paying customer and revenue expectations over the next year.

Back in 2005, our first projects were e-government solutions. We developed YouTown, a mobile solution connecting citizens with local government, which received the Champions of Change award from the White House.

Our second project was a decision-making solution adopted by city councils in the Netherlands and Belgium. Ever since, e-government has become a central focus of Redwerk, and at present, we continue developing Current, a SaaS platform simplifying the delivery of state-administered programs in the USA, which has been adopted by over 12 states and counties.

Revenue-wise, we’re focused on building deep, trusted partnerships, anticipating steady, predictable growth. However, we are also actively exploring new opportunities within the AI and blockchain sectors as they continue to expand.

10. What’s your biggest threat?

First things first, AI tools like Devin are not a threat to us. Good luck supporting those apps. Software development involves complex problem-solving, understanding nuanced client requirements, creativity, and effective communication. Current AI tools cannot do that.

Another thing is market saturation. Redwerk has been in operation for over 20 years already. During this time, we’ve learned what distinguishes us from others.

We don’t compete with agencies that simply provide access to their software engineers; our competition is with agencies that offer managed services and take ownership of their clients’ product success. Redwerk is known for delivering code that can pass the most thorough due diligence audits. Redwerk is known for our smooth onboarding process and ability to get up to speed in no time. Redwerk is known for contributing to our clients’ projects as equal partners and genuinely celebrating their wins. While we may not offer the cheapest rates, we provide a strategic partnership to support your business in multiple meaningful ways.
