Even though Max is changing its name back to HBO Max this summer, it’s still keeping busy with lots of new content until that day arrives. July sees a bunch of movies from distribution partner A24, along with All Elite Wrestling library content, live sports, new series, Guy Fieri, and more. Here are our picks for the best new movies and shows arriving on the streaming service in July 2025.
Sinners (July 4)
What better way to celebrate America’s birthday than with one of the absolute best films of the year? Ryan Coogler’s Sinners walks the tightrope between blood-soaked vampire action, Deep South racial drama, and a celebration of the Blues in all its forms. Michael B. Jordan is magnetic in the dual lead roles, and the debuting Miles Caton is stellar. This is definitely a flick that improves with multiple viewings, so we’re psyched it’s finally streaming.

Rage (Furia) (July 11)
Spanish-language drama Rage (Furia) follows an ensemble cast of five women in a variety of intense situations, from infidelity and poverty to murder. The social satire amps up the tension that we’re all feeling, with violence and betrayal around every corner. Each episode is just 25 minutes long, with no wasted motion, and creator Félix Sabroso is already at work on a second season.
Death Of A Unicorn (July 25)
A24 has a bunch of movies coming to Max this month, but the most interesting is Death of a Unicorn, a twisted black comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father and daughter on a weekend getaway who accidentally run over a unicorn with their car. When the creature’s blood is found to have miraculous healing properties, things quickly spiral out of control and its parents show up to exact revenge.
