Acer’s gaming brand Predator has launched a slick new portable SSD aimed at gamers, creators, and power users. This new SSD, the Predator GP30 RGB, comes with super-fast speeds and some stylish lighting that makes it even more appealing to gamers.
The Predator GP30 RGB stands out with its aluminum alloy body and a transparent front window that reveals a vibrant RGB lighting setup. Acer has made good use of the lighting, as it glows purple when idle and switches to a seven-colour RGB cycle during read/write operations.
Starting with the speeds, the Predator GP30 RGB SSD is built on a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C interface. It offers up to 20Gbps bandwidth and supports sequential read/write speeds of up to 2000MB/s, making it one of the fastest portable SSDs in its segment. This means not only fast transfers for large game files, but it’s also perfect for video editors handling heavy 4K and even 8K footage.
The SSD also comes with a dual-interface USB-C to USB-A cable, making it easier to connect with laptops, desktops, and even gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5. It weighs just around 66.5 grams, which makes it super portable.
The best part of this SSD is that it also supports ProRes 4K video capture at 60fps and 120fps. This makes it a reliable pick for videographers and content creators working with high-bitrate formats. It also comes in multiple variants, ranging from 1TB to 8TB of storage. Plus, it includes a 5-year warranty, which gives users added assurance and peace of mind.
The Acer Predator GP30 RGB SSD starts at 799 yuan (Rs 9,200) for the 1TB variant. On the other hand, the 2TB version is priced at 1,499 yuan (Rs 17,300), and the top-end 4TB model comes in at 2,499 yuan (Rs 28,800).
