As something of an iPad fanatic, I know a good deal when I see one, and Amazon’s just dropped one of the all-time greats.

It’s become a joke amongst my closest friends but I am completely obsessed with using iPads for every type of task. So far I’ve managed to write a manuscript, put together my dissertation and edit videos for a YouTube channel on one iPad or another, and if you’ve yet to put one to the test yourself then this Prime Day deal is the perfect opportunity to see what all the fuss is about.

In Amazon’s ongoing US Prime Day sale, you can bag the super powered (yet brilliantly valued) iPad Air M3 for just $479, marking a huge $120 reduction on the tablet’s original $599 price point. Compared to every other iPad in the current line-up, this is easily the one to go for as it presents the perfect blend of power and affordability.

At just $479, no other tablet comes close to providing the perfect blend of power, software and features that the iPad Air M3 brings to the table.

Even though there’s a massive $520 price difference between this discounted iPad Air and the entry-level iPad Pro, you’re hardly missing out when it comes to performance thanks to the blazingly fast M3 chipset. In his 4.5-star review for the iPad Air M3, Editor Max Parker had this to say:

“The M3 chip is a bit of a gaming beast, especially for a tablet as portable as this. It supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing in certain titles, and there’s a good selection of console ports available on the App Store. If you’d told me a few years ago that I could play Death Stranding on an iPad with a connected PS5 controller and it’d run in a playable manner, I’d have been thoroughly impressed.”

All of that power also makes the iPad Air M3 a solid device for productivity. It’s possible to multitask with some fairly hefty apps and never see any instances of stuttering or slowdown, so if you need a portable tablet that can stand in for your laptop when you want to travel light, this is a great option to have in tow.

In fact, the productivity experience is only set to get even better thanks to the impending upgrades of iPadOS 26. This new bit of software is set to make the iPad Air M3 even more like a Mac with resizable windows and the ability to have multiple windows open at one time so that you can quickly move between them.

It almost goes without saying but when you’re done with work and you just want to relax, the iPad Air is a great device for some big screen entertainment on the go via native apps for Netflix, Apple TV Plus and more.

There’s an outrageous amount of functionality that you can get from the iPad Air M3, and when it’s down to just $479, it’s by far the best value option against any other iPad in the entire range.
