ANDY Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs came up with a two-word name for a Chris Jones trick play, which ultimately hasn’t seen the light of day, and for good reason.

Reid’s Chiefs have been known for their creative play-calling on offense and attempted to involve the defensive lineman Jones.

During Travis Kelce’s latest edition of New Heights, the 10-time Pro Bowler and his brother, co-host Jason Kelce, brought on Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Travis asked Nagy, who has worked in the Chiefs organization for eight seasons, if there’s been one play that the franchise have not been able to run.

From time to time, Kansas City has tasked offensive lineman and tight ends throwing touchdown passes since Reid took over in 2013.

Nagy couldn’t think of one before he finally remembered the team attempting to deploy a play that involved the future Hall of Famer Jones.

But Jones struggled to throw the ball to Kelce during the play and, after several weeks of practice, the Chiefs scrapped it.

Nagy reminsced on the play which was called “Swingin’ D”, a two-word name that the Kelce brothers immediately cracked up about.

The play name was a reference to Jones’ wardrobe malfunction during the 2016 Scouting Combine.

While running the 40-yard dash, Jones’ penis was exposed and after crossing the finish line he fell on the ground as attempted to fix the issue.

“Swingin’ D, are you kidding me?!” Jason said. “That’s amazing. Oh my gosh.

“It had the name. It had the reference,” Travis joked.

“It didn’t work,” Nagy laughed.

He then explained how inacccurate Jones truly was during the trick play attempts in practice.

“It was a throw to me but every throw was like five yards behind me, at my feet. I was like ‘Coach, I don’t think this is going to work.'”

Naggy and Reid agreed and ultimately decided to get rid of “Swingin’ D.”

“It got canned,” Nagy said.

“”It lasted about two weeks, and ‘Swinging D’ went out, so no more of that.

“That was gone. But that’s about the only one, you know, Coach (Reid), man.”

The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls over the last six years and will likely continue their creative ways.

NFL important dates 2025 season

November 27 – Thanksgiving Day triple header

February 8, 2026 – Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California

But Kelce and company would rather a play scheme involving someone other than the six-time Pro Bowler Jones.

“Dude, I love Chris Jones to death,” Kelce said. “I don’t know what it was, but he needs to stay on the defensive side.
