Apple fans have something exciting to look forward to. While there is nothing official yet, the much-awaited iPhone 17 series is likely to be unveiled in the second week of September 2025, a latest report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested. While Apple hasn’t confirmed the exact date yet, patterns from past launches suggest that the next iPhone announcement could land on either September 9 or 10. Here’s why.
Every year, Apple hosts its annual iPhone launch event in early September, typically after Labor Day in the U.S. In 2025, Labor Day falls on Monday, September 1. That places the likely launch window between September 8 and 12.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts the event usually avoids scheduling events on Fridays. That narrows it down to Monday (September 8), Tuesday (September 9), or Wednesday (September 10). Of these, Tuesday seems the most likely.
Apple Event Patterns
In the last ten years, Apple has hosted its iPhone events mostly in the second week of September. Out of those, five events took place on a Tuesday, three on a Wednesday, and just one on a Monday (in 2024). The only major exception was 2020, when COVID-19 pushed the launch to October. Given this history, a Tuesday or Wednesday launch in the week of September 8 makes perfect sense for 2025.
So while we wait for the official invite, it’s safe to say: early September is when the next iPhones will take center stage — and September 9 or 10 could be the dates to watch. Apple typically sends out official invites about a week before the event, so fans and media alike should stay alert in early September.
Apple Event 2025: What To Expect
Alongside the iPhone 17 lineup, which is expected to unveil the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple is also expected to unveil updates to its wearables. These could include Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
