Traveling a lot this summer but need to stay connected to your digital life? A tablet might be the lightweight and cost-friendly solution for you. Whether you’re an iPad believer, a Microsoft Surface maven, or a Samsung stan, we’ve got deep price drops on some of the best-reviewed tablets out there. No matter what you do with your portable, whether it’s watching the summer shows on your favorite streaming platform, reading websites and social media, or doing high-end creativity, we’ve got a tablet deal for you.

Our PC Labs experts test tablets using a well-documented system of benchmarks and evaluations. Those reviewers look at the same things you should consider before buying, like the power of the processor and the amount of onboard memory. Additional considerations include weight, storage, camera quality, battery life, and connectivity. If you’re going to be using your tablet mostly for text, you might consider opting for an ebook reader instead.

The main difference between tablets is the operating systems. Android, iPadOS, and Windows are the three main choices, and they all have strengths and weaknesses. If you’re looking for a tablet that does everything a laptop can, some models can connect to a removable keyboard. You could also opt for a 2-in-1 device that melds a built-in keyboard with the versatility of a touchscreen, thanks to a full 360-degree hinge. No matter what you’ve got in mind, there’s a tablet that can do it. Here are the top tablet deals we’ve found in July.

Apple iPad Deals

What we consider “the best tablet for most people” got an Editors’ Choice award in our review, with the base model iPad winning raves for its affordable price, exceptional build quality and reliable performance. Built around the Apple A14 Bionic processor, it handles media consumption, casual gaming and other everyday tablet tasks with ease, and the 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display is bright and sharp. A pair of 12-megapixel cameras, front and back, capture photos and video with clarity. This configuration ships with Wi-Fi connectivity and 64GB of onboard storage.

We’re also seeing prices drop on the just-released 11th generation iPad for the first time. We gave this one an Editors’ Choice nod as well, while commenting in our review that the only significant difference between it and the 10th generation slate was the upgraded A16 processor. With a five-core CPU, four-core GPU and new 16-core “neural processing engine,” it’s tuned to enable Apple’s new on-device AI software with increased speed and stability. The screen size has been slightly upgraded, but that’s the only visual difference. This model gives you twice the storage of the offer above, and for an all-purpose tablet that stands the test of time, you won’t do much better at 20% off.

Apple iPad Pro M4

Even the highest-end iPad is getting a little midsummer discount, and while a 9% price cut isn’t life-changing, it still represents a significant savings on the slate that Eric Zeman said “easily handles heavy-duty apps like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Photoshop, and more” in our review. The Pro has always been the iPad model where Apple pushes the performance envelope, and this creative tablet is lightning-fast thanks to the cutting-edge M4 processor, has a gorgeous 13-inch OLED screen, and weighs in at just 1.28 pounds, making it light enough to use all day, with battery life to match.

Samsung Tablet Deals

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+

Samsung makes a huge array of tablets in different form factors and capabilities, but for a high-end content creation slate you’ll have a hard time topping the Galaxy Tab S10+. A bright, anti-glare Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel coupled with an included S Pen stylus is a pleasure to use, and the speedy MediaTex processor can keep up with high-octane apps. We gave this one an Editors’ Choice award in our review, with reviewer Iyaz Akhtar saying that beyond the excellent build quality and components, “Samsung’s software tweaks push Android further than the competition, and Galaxy AI introduces even more functionality and fun.”

Here’s a nice price on an Editors’ Choice-winning Android tablet. In our review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, we said that the budget slate “proficiently handles advanced productivity tasks as well as entertainment such as streaming and gaming.” With a relatively large screen for the price and a quartet of speakers plus a headphone jack for audio, it’s a good pick for media streaming on the go, especially with its battery life of up to seven hours. This configuration comes with 64GB of internal storage, but a convenient microSD slot lets you expand that easily.

If portable creativity is your bag, we raved about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ in our 2023 review, giving it an Editors’ Choice award, with analyst Iyaz Akhtar saying the slate “provides a high-end experience that belies its comparatively reasonable price.” It feels premium in your hands, with a sizable screen and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The tablet also includes Samsung’s S Pen stylus for precise input. Battery life is rated for 20 hours and charges to full in just 90 minutes. A $100 discount makes this an even more impressive deal for one of the best Android tablets out there.

Straddling the line between a tablet and a laptop, Microsoft’s Surface Pro convertible is interesting enough to be worth your time, especially if you’re most used to the Windows ecosystem. The full version of Windows 11 that it runs is powerful and stable, and in our review we said that this portable was sleek and satisfying, with some of the best battery life we’ve seen out of a Surface tablet yet, as well as zippy Copilot AI performance and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Note that this offer does not include the Flex Pro wireless keyboard, but chopping 20% off retail gives you plenty of cash left over to pick one up if you need it.

Lenovo Tablet Deals

Lenovo makes some of the most consistent portable computers on the market, and that standard of quality extends to their tablets as well. Introduced in 2023, the M9 is a budget-minded slate with solid performance and style. A durable all-metal build definitely makes it stand out from competitors in this price range, and the eight-core processor is perfectly decent for casual gaming, media streaming and light productivity. An additional 30% discount makes it the most affordable tablet in this roundup. This offer also comes with a free folio case to keep your new device safe from the elements.

FAQ

How Much Money Should You Spend on a Tablet?

The answer to this, of course, depends on what you’re planning to use it for. In our guide to the best tablets, we feature models that range from $74.99 to over $1,000. If all you’re looking for is a lightweight portable for media consumption and gaming, you can get a capable Android tablet for a few hundred bucks. For more resource-intensive content creation and other needs, expect to spend a little bit more. Evaluate what your needs are before you start shopping, and you’ll be able to find the right slate for you. Most people will find they can get a powerful device between $400 and $600.

What Is the Best Time of Year to Buy a Tablet?

Shopping for tech can be a little irksome because prices rise and fall based on chip supply, market demand, and hundreds of other factors. Tablet prices generally remain pretty stable, but if you’re looking to save, Black Friday is probably your best bet. The biggest shopping holiday of the year happens the day after Thanksgiving. It typically extends into the weekend, when you’re guaranteed to see record-low prices on tablets from Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Google, and more.

What Time of the Year is the Cheapest to Buy an iPad?

According to our extensive iPad buying guide, there are several hot dates for purchasing an Apple tablet. One of the best times is after a new iPad model is released. In 2025, we saw the release of the new iPad and iPad Air in March, which followed the iPad mini last October. Other good times to find iPad deals include Black Friday, Amazon’s twice-yearly Prime Day sales, and the back-to-school season.

What Are the Top Tablet Discounts Available During Amazon Prime Day or Cyber Week?

Retailers often discount Apple iPads during seasonal sales. For example, Amazon and Best Buy might each take $100 off the main iPad models. Similarly, Amazon is prone to offering heavy discounts on its own Kindle and Fire products during Prime Day and Cyber Week.

What’s the Best Tablet Under $500?

You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great tablet computing experience. In our rundown of the best cheap tablets, we spotlight numerous Android and Apple devices that are great bargains. Our top choice for affordable tablets is the Amazon Fire HD 10, which is great for media streaming, casual gaming, and web surfing. Read our review here. For Apple tablets, the 11th-generation iPad costs $349 and performs exceptionally well. You can read our review of that model here.

Are There Any Bundle Deals That Include Tablet Accessories?

The answer to this depends on the manufacturer. Some tablets ship with a stylus in the box. These include devices like e-readers meant for note-taking and Android slates from Lenovo and Samsung. Samsung sometimes bundles its keyboard accessories with its tablets, but not consistently. Apple does not bundle the Apple Pencil or Magic Keyboard with its iPad. It would be up to an individual retailer to bundle Apple products together.
