Google has announced its annual hardware launch event, which is set for August 20, 2025.

The event will take place in New York City, the company revealed in an invitation sent out to US press on Wednesday (July 17).

The event, part of the Made by Google series, promises to showcase “the latest on our Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more.”

What do we expect to see?

The star of the show is likely to be the new Pixel 10 smartphone lineup. That’s rumoured to include the standard Pixel 10, as well as the upgraded Pixel 10 Pro and the larger Pixel 10 Pro XL.

There’s also speculation about a revamped Pixel 10 Pro Fold making its debut. Earlier this week, we reported that the Pixel Fold would come with a larger (although without the silicon carbon tech) battery, an extended outside display and an IP68 rating.

We also raised concerns about how these modest updates would help the Fold 10 Pro compete against technically advanced foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Honor Magic V5.

Away from phones, we’re likely to see the Pixel Watch 4 possibly in two sizes, plus a bunch of new earbuds, both in the Pro and A series. We could also hear more about the latest version of Android, and maybe some updates to the Pixel Tablet, although this wasn’t mentioned in the invite.

This August event is in keeping with Google’s tradition of summer hardware launches, which gives the company a chance to showcase its innovations ahead of the competitive fall season when other manufacturers, including Apple, launch flagship products.

A report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman this week suggested Apple would be unveiling new products early in September, and that followed a barrage of leaks regarding the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air.

Google’s event will likely be livestreamed on YouTube, and we’ll bring you all the news as its develops on the day.
