As we inch closer to the expected September launch of the iPhone 17 series, new leaks are giving us a better idea of what to expect, especially in terms of colour choices. A fresh leak now hints at four potential colour variants for the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, and there are a couple of surprises in the mix.
According to well-known leaker Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro could be available in Black, Dark Blue, Orange, and Silver. The black and silver options seem to follow the familiar route, reportedly taking inspiration from previous Black Titanium and White Titanium finishes seen in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
However, it’s the other two shades—Dark Blue and Orange—that are catching attention. The blue is said to be so deep that it can appear black under certain lighting, similar to the Blue Titanium tone used earlier. The Orange variant, meanwhile, could be the standout, possibly inspired by the Action Button colour on the Apple Watch Ultra.
A Shift in Design Material?
Another notable change could be the return to aluminium frames for the iPhone 17 Pro series. After moving from stainless steel to titanium in recent years, Apple may be bringing aluminium back, possibly to complement these newly curated colours. The new colour finishes are expected to pair well with this frame material for a more cohesive design look.
The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are also expected to arrive in more playful shades like green, purple, sky blue, and even light gold. These colours, however, are likely exclusive to the base and mid-tier variants, while the Pro line aims for a more refined look.
iPhone 17 Series: Launch Timeline
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to launch alongside the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air models between September 8 and September 12. While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed anything, the colour leaks offer a small but exciting glimpse of what’s to come.
