If you’re a Chrome user on iOS and use your device for work, here’s some good news: you can now switch between personal and corporate accounts, keeping work and personal stuff separate without constantly logging in and out.

No more login juggling

Announced today in a Chrome Enterprise blog post, the update lets iOS users easily switch between personal and managed work accounts. This means organizations can enforce policies and protect corporate data, while users will have an easier time managing their different browsing profiles:

”Give iOS users the flexibility to easily switch between work and personal accounts, knowing an organization can securely manage its environment with transparency and security protections. Whether enterprises have a BYOD model or are looking for more ways to better secure their corporate-owned phones and tablets, Chrome Enterprise is bringing tighter enterprise browsing protections to mobile.”

In practice, this means that corporate accounts on personal devices will keep “secure access to corporate resources” and “keep company data protected”, without the hassle of leaving it to the user to juggle between logging in and logging out when switching contexts in the personal device they use for work.

Google says that the update includes an onboarding screen that explains the separation and how data is handled, and that users will be notified when “they are entering a managed experience” through an on-screen confirmation when they sign in with their managed work account.

The company said it is also bringing URL filtering to iOS (already available on desktop and Android), allowing companies to block or redirect access to specific sites, such as unauthorized generative AI tools, and steer users toward approved alternatives.
