Google has given us a brief glimpse of the Pixel 10, one of its upcoming smartphones for 2025, through a video teaser.
The clip, which can be viewed on the Google Store homepage, shows the back of the phone and confirms the full reveal is coming at the Made by Google event in New York on August 20.
The video shows the rear of the phone, which features the familiar oval-shaped camera bar Google switched to for the Pixel 9. Previously, it used a camera visor that went from edge to edge of the phone’s back.
The video doesn’t give too much away, but it does confirm recent leaks that have suggested the Pixel 10 will be pretty similar to the Pixel 9 in terms of design.
The blue/grey colour scheme shown in the images looks to be new, and I think it looks great – a little different, but still understated and not too garish.
It also seems to confirm that the Pixel 10 will have a third rear camera, likely a telephoto for improved zoom. Previously, the base Pixel had just two cameras, but adding a third brings it in line with the Samsung Galaxy S25.
The Pixel 10 is likely to run on Android 16 and feature a plethora of AI features, along with being powered by a new Tensor G5 chipset that’ll also debut at the Made By Google. The Pixel 10 is expected to be joined by the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro Fold.
Does revealing the look of the phone ahead of time kill hype?
Google has previously adopted a strategy of revealing product designs ahead of official announcements to mitigate leaks. Last year, Google teased the look of the Pixel 9 Pro similarly, revealing the updated design that had previously been leaked quite heavily.
This announcement from Google of the Pixel 10 also follows leaked renders of the Pixel 10 appearing online. Android Headlines published renders of the phone, in four colours (Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello).
The site also reported that the third rear camera would be a telephoto plucked from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and that the primary sensor would be the same 48-megapixel as the Pixel 9a.

Phones leak all the time, but Google seems to be the only brand that follows these leaks with some actual official confirmation of the designs.
I understand Google is trying to get ahead of the leaks, but revealing the back of the phone (and the presence of a third camera, likely the big selling point for this lower-end Pixel) takes away from the lustre of the launch event. There’s still a whole month to go, and it already feels like the phone has been announced. Imagine if Apple revealed the iPhone 17 Air a month before launch – it just wouldn’t happen.
Of course, Google still has the Pro series, which, considering the modest leaked specs of the standard 10, will likely be the standout launch from the event. But there’s still time for Google to pre-launch its Pro series too, as it did last year.
