On Tuesday, China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) approved 134 games for July, including 127 domestic titles and seven imported ones. NetEase’s Diablo IV, developed by Blizzard and previously released overseas in June 2023, was among the most notable imported titles approved. Diablo IV is a dark fantasy action role-playing game that features open-world exploration, real-time combat, and loot-driven progression. The game earned over $660 million in global sales within its first five days after release, making it the fastest-selling title in Blizzard’s history, according to the company. [NPPA, in Chinese]
