Sony launched the BRAVIA 5 Series 4K Mini LED TVs in India last month with, introducing 55-inch, 65-inch, 76-inch, and 85-inch models. Now, the company has debuted the largest model – a 98-inch K-98XR55A model – in the BRAVIA 5 lineup. Sony’s BRAVIA series means premium visuals and immersive audio experience, and the new model is expected to deliver the same. The 98-inch BRAVIA 5 TV sports a 4K Mini LED screen driven by Sony’s XR Processor. It boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and XR Backlight Master Drive, XR Contrast Booster 10, and XR TRILUMINOUS PRO for deeper contrast, brighter highlights, and more vivid colours. The chip relies on artificial intelligence and cognitive intelligence to mimic the way people see and hear. The TV also features HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision for supported content.
The BRAVIA 5 TV boasts a 40W speaker system and comes equipped with Sony’s Acoustic Multi-Audio technology, which offers precise sound positioning. Similar to other models, the 98-inch model also allows for Dolby Atmos to enjoy surround sound. The BRAVIA 5 TV also operates on Google TV OS, which provides access to popular streaming apps and voice control support.
For connectivity, the TV supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, two USBs, and four HDMI ports (with 4K at 120Hz, eARC, and VRR support).
The TV also has several calibration modes, such as Prime Video Calibrated Mode, Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode, and Sony Pictures Core Calibrated Mode. These calibrate picture settings automatically based on the content as creators intended. The Sony Pictures Core also gives users access to some of the Sony movies in high resolution.
