Available since November 2023, the PlayStation Portal was not really the accessory that players were waiting for. As soon as he was announced, Sony did not really convince us. Displayed at a Price of 219.99 eurosthe PS Portal is not a game console. It is a simple accessory which, from its launch, only made it possible to play the PS5 via the distance game.
The accessory had no other use, not to really justify its price. Since last year, Sony has radically increased the interest of its product thanks to an update that has enabled the Gaming Cloud to be activated. From now on, the PS Portal allows you to play more than 200 games, even if you don’t have a PS5, as long as you have a good connection. And, suddenly, it changes everything.
While the PS portal is a huge successexceeding the expectations of the Japanese manufacturer. The portal draws its attractions from its incredible handling and the very good quality of its screen, making the comfort of playing very high.
Today, we learn that Sony would apparently work on a “pro” model of its accessory.
A PS Portal PRO in the future?
It is thanks to the insider detective seeds, who recently distinguished himself by confirming the 60 FPS on PS5 Pro for GTA 6, that we learn today that Sony would work on a version « Pro » of its gaming accessory. According to the Insider, PlayStation would like to integrate PSSR technology into a professional version of the PS Portal.

I will recap a few since it had been months ago:

I will recap a few points, because it’s been months:
– a new PlayStation controller with a much longer battery life (thank God)
– A “Portal Pro”, if I may say, with integrated PSSR technology.
– An update of Portal which will allow you to play on the move without internet connection (think of the steam deck). It is scheduled for 2026, but I don’t think it will be before the pro updates.
There are two others, but I was asked not to reveal them for the moment, until a later date.
So, of course, it is good to remember that the PSSR is a technology developed by Sony which aims to improve, thanks to artificial intelligence, the performance and in particular the upscaling of its PS5 Pro. Alas, the results are well below expectations and Sony should normally replace the PSSR with the FSR4 of AMD next year thanks to a big update of the PS5 Pro. Will the PSSR be kept on the new PS Portal, or will Sony also opt for the FSR?
In addition to the PSSR, Sony plans to design a version of the Portal PS which will allow Play games without internet accesslike the steam deck. Therefore, obviously, with the possibility of having games that can be installed on the machine. Thus, the PS Portal could become A real game console And not just an accessory to play remotely and via the Cloud Gaming.
For the moment, it is far too early to confirm anything. Recall that, according to many rumors, Sony is on the development of Project Jupiter, a new portable console to accompany the release of the PS6.
