The global reference of the collecting card game enriches its universe with the release of the extension At the doors of eternitiesnow available in store and on Magic: The Gathering Arena. We had exclusively unveiled a map of this new chapter, and it must be admitted that the result is up to our expectations. Worn by Wizards of the Coastthis new edition projects players on the borders of the fictional system of Sothera, making them explore distant planets, spaceships and extraterrestrial factions at war.
An unprecedented universe, and innovative mechanics
Sothera’s intrigue leads players out of the traditional multiverse, to the border of blind eternities where the new planet revolves. The atmosphere promises to be singular: crew of scrap metal, mysterious artifact, and struggles of interstellar factions … Everything is thought to accompany the new game mechanics. And precisely, there is a good package:
- Station: Associated with vessels and planets, this mechanism encourages the commitment of creatures to place load markers, conferring various bonuses according to the permanent resorts used.
- Descent module: new artefact token themed “space landing”. It can be sacrificed against two colorless manas to search for a basic field.
- Hyperespace: allows you to launch exile permanents in a next round, creating a new strategic dynamic in the game.
- Empty: capacity that interacts with the permanents who have left the battlefield or jumped into hyperespace.
Two new decks order
Two new COMMANER decks inaugurate the Station mechanics: one dedicated to the sacrifice of land to strengthen the power of its vessel, the other focused on synergy between artefacts and markers. Each deck should offer a renewed gaming experience, enriched with unpublished illustrations and rare double terrains, without forgetting the possibility of choosing its legendary vessel as commander, a first in Magic.
In line with previous extensions, At the doors of eternities asserts itself as a playground for collectors. Sothera, the supervid, legendary legendary enchantment, is available both in classic and premium version, available via collector’s boosters.
