JUST a few days remain for eligible Americans to claim their share of a $1.9 million class action lawsuit settlement.

But anyone looking to claim the money will require specific documentation demonstration their losses.

Arkansas health organisation Arisa Health is paying out the cash to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2024 data breach.

This breach is believed to have compromised sensitive information about patients – including names, Social Security numbers and medical information.

Arisa Health revealed in March 2024 that it had been the subject of a data breach.

Plaintiffs argued the company failed to implement adequate data protections such as multifactor authentication.

The settlement Arisa Health is paying benefits those identified as being affected, including those who were sent a notice of the incident.

However, the company has not admitted to any wrongdoing.

But Arisa Health is nonetheless paying the money to resolve the data breach class action allegations.

The settlement sets out that class members can get up to $5,000 for documented losses and data breach related expenses.

This might include unreimbursed fraud or identity theft losses, credit monitoring costs, bank fees and more.

A smaller payment of $70 is available without documentation of losses.

In addition, all class members can get three years of free credit monitoring services.

The final approval hearing is set for September 24, 2025.

But time is running out for anyone who wishes to submit a claim.

The deadline for valid claim forms to be filed is August 27, 2025.

For proof of purchase, documents provided should not be “self-prepared” by the claimant.

“Self-prepared” documentation such as handwritten receipts are not adequate by themselves, but can be used to support additional evidence.

Elsewhere, affected Americans can get shares of another $19 million class action settlement.

It relates to claims that comparison website QuoteWizard broke regulations by sending unsolicited telemarketing texts.

Again, QuoteWizard has not admitted any wrongdoing, but has agreed to pay out to resolve the claims.

The deadline for exclusion and objection set for August 5, 2025.
