On the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation (between 2007 and 2013), fans of Rockstar Games were spoiled. First, Rockstar offered them at least one game per yearwith GTA 4 et Midnight Club Los Angeles (in 2008), Episodes From Liberty City (in 2009), Red Dead Redemption (in 2010), The black (in 2011), Max Payne 3 (in 2012) and GTA 5 (in 2013).

This clearly changes this long period without games, where, since 2013, We only had a new title : Red Dead Redemption II (in 2018). In addition to an annual release of new games, Rockstar Games also offered DLC.

Grand Theft Auto IV was entitled to two big DLCs with the extensions The Lost and Damned et The Ballad Of Gay Tony. Red Dead Redemption was entitled to its zombie extension, Undead Nightmare. While The black proposed several additional surveys in addition to the original game.

Alas, since GTA 5we were not entitled to additional content. However, Rockstar Games had many plans and many. According to recent sources, No less than eight DLC were planned At the start.

In a recent thread on X, the Synth Potato account lists all the projects and plans provided for in DLC for GTA 5. In reality, all this is not new and dates back to December 2023. The French specialized media Rockstar Mag ‘had already mentioned these leaks that dataminers had found in the sources of the game.

We then learned that games Agent et Bully 2 were planned, as Eight DLC pour GTA V. Among these DLCs, An extension of map to Liberty Citywhich was to arrive on GTA Online. Other contents like a DLC centered on zombies, aliens or A return to North Yankton were also in the plans. Alas, all of this was canceled to arrive in the form of special events on GTA Online.

In terms of extensions, GTA V had to receive content similar to GTA IV : Episodes From Liberty Citywith an extension dedicated to Michael, one to Franklin and one last in Trevor. But, again, we will never have the opportunity to discover them. Certain plans, such as the Trevor DLC has the right to an adaptation on GTA Online. The DLC of Diamond casino robbery is also largely inspired by what we had to have in this solo DLC.

In 2013, when released GTA Vduring an interview, Sam and Dan Houser, the co-founders of Rockstar Games had confided that their dream was to offer A GTA bringing together all the cities in the universe of their series in one and the same map. With GTA 5and more precisely GTA Onlinewe had the right to an extension on the island of Cayo Perico (in 2020). With the return to North Yankton who was on the program and the extension to Liberty City, we can imagine that Rockstar was preparing the future.

In 2022, journalist Jason Schreier confirmed that GTA 6 would be A game that would evolve in time With new content that would be added continuously. Wouldn’t the Cayo Perico areland have been a test to see the reception of the players, in order to offer several map extensions in GTA 6 ?

For the moment, it is far too early to confirm anything. We only hope that GTA 6expected for May 26, 2026, will be complete and will offer us, in addition to that, additional content To extend our pleasure and our stay in Léonida.
