LACT 0.8.1 is out with a few important changes for this open-source Linux GPU control application that is written in Rust and rendered using GTK.
LACT is a Linux GPU control application that makes up for the lack of the AMD and Intel drivers having any official graphics driver control panel for Linux (as well as the open-source NVIDIA/Nouveau driver code). While the NVIDIA official Linux driver has the NVIDIA-Settings UI, LACT also supports NVIDIA GPUs too for those preferring a unified control panel. LACT provides overclocking/underclocking support for many of the capable GPUs, viewing detailed GPU information, built-in power and thermal monitoring, and other features akin to what enthusiasts and gamers are accustomed to using on Microsoft Windows.
With LACT 0.8.1 there is improved support for older AMD Radeon graphics cards in now having full voltage and frequency point control from the UI. Up to now LACT had only exposed the minimum and maximum values but now there is full control for older AMD GPUs like with Radeon RX Vega:
LACT 0.8.1 also brings profile hooks for executing arbitrary scripts when a settings profile is activated/deactivated, and localization support is now available to support different spoken languages. There is also improved functionality to enable/disabling AMD overclocking, detailed GPU cache information reporting on AMD hardware, and a variety of other enhancements.
