The Beijing Aerospace Ark Space Lab has been conducting research and development on a new generation of communication satellites, according to Xinhua News Agency. Currently, Xinhua News Agency has not yet disclosed photos of new satellites or related models. This new generation of communication satellites features an integration of phased array antennas and solar wings, which can convert solar energy into satellite energy on a plane of several square meters. The report indicates that the new tech can improve the networking efficiency of multi satellite deployment and reduce the volume of the satellite by hiding the satellite’s antenna inside the solar wing. The new satellite technology will be a crucial component of the 6G communication network, with satellites expected to unleash more new applications for the public, the report said.
