AMAZON’S delivery services have continued to develop over the years, becoming more advanced and faster than ever.

While the e-commerce giant is a leader in the industry when it comes to shipping, it isn’t immune from package disruptions.

Sometimes, Prime members and non-Prime members make online orders that are either late or never arrive at all.

When that happens, there’s still a way to get a refund fast, according to Amazon’s website.

If Amazon hasn’t already notified the shopper that a package was running late, which it does now through its website and mobile application, they should first go to the “Your Orders” section.

Once there, they can locate the order in question that hasn’t arrived.

A button should appear that says, “Problem with order.”

The shopper can click that and will then be prompted with a “Request refund” selection, with a requirement for an explanation as to why the refund is needed.

There should be an area to note that the “Package didn’t arrive,” along with other additional information.

After submitting the refund request with Amazon, the timeline as to when the cash hits the user’s account varies.

An investigation into the claim of a package not arriving can take up to a week, and if approved, an email is sent out confirming and a Request Refund Status will be viewable.

The money from the refund can arrive back into an account at varying times.

PAY IT BACK

For an Amazon gift card, it only takes about two to three hours, according to a page on the e-commerce giant’s website.

Credit cards having a waiting period of about three to five days, and Shop with Reward Points is about five days.

Debit card refunds have a window of up to 10 days, along with checking accounts, electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards, and. cash (at a eligible store).

Using a pre-paid credit card can be the longest wait for an Amazon refund at up to 30 days.

Amazon Prime perks you might have missed

Check these out…

*If you click on a link in this article we may earn affiliate revenue.

First up is Prime Try Before You Buy, which is a Prime exclusive.

This lets you try new styles and sizes of clothes before buying them.

You can return them within seven days at no cost – and you’ll only have to pay for the products that you keep.

It’s a thriftier way to try on clothes, as it means you’re not fronting up money every time.

Second is Amazon Photos, which is extremely handy if you’re a serial snapper.

This gives you access to unlimited full-res photo storage, plus 5GB of video storage.

Third is Prime Reading, which serves up “a rotating collection of over 3,000 digital books, audiobooks, magazines, comics, and more”.

Fourth is another perk for book-lovers: Amazon First Reads.

This gives you early access to a brand new book for free every single month.

Fifth is a brilliant perk called Prime Gaming.

This gets you free games and in-game content every single month, as well as a free Twitch channel subscription to use each month.

You’ll also be able to play a rotating selection of free games on Amazon’s cloud gaming service Luna.

Sixth on the list is Membership Sharing.

This lets you share your existing Prime membership with your family – specifically between two adults, four teens, and four children under 13.

Seventh on the list is Amazon Music.

This gets you ad-free listening to over 100 million songs, along with thousands of playlists and popular podcasts.

And finally, don’t forget to unlock Grubhub+.

If you’re a Prime member in the US, you can get a one-year Grubhub+ trial, which normally costs $9.99 a month.

This gets you unlimited $0 delivery fees on any order over $12.

Those who had thrown away the pre-paid credit card after use aren’t out of luck either, as Amazon stores the card within their account to be used toward future purchases.

Amazon also does not issue refunds when promotional certificates are used.

Gift returns get complicated, but the company could determine that a gift receipt can qualify for a refund without requiring a return.

PARTIAL PAYOUT

Partial refunds are also dolled out for four specific reasons, but they all are relevant only if the package was delivered.

The first is if a consumer did get the item they ordered and selected an option to return it that wasn’t free.

Secondly, those who don’t drop off or complete a carrier pick-up by a designated “return by date” will get 20% of the item’s price docked.

Damaged merchandise or those that are missing parts will have 50% taken away, and those that return opened, activated, or used software, video games, collectible cards, board games, or similar items could see a 100% reduction of the item price.

Amazon’s CEO also recently revealed the “world’s best personal assistant” is coming to customers sooner than they might think.

The company also quietly increased prices on 1,200 goods, with Walmart having the same items for about 2% less.
