If you’re in the market for a thin and lightweight Windows 11 PC for back-to-school season, then Asus’ latest offering might be right up your alley. The company’s excellent Zenbook A14 laptop, which I reviewed back in February, can be scooped up for a limited-time price of $600. That’s a whopping $400 off its base MSRP of $1000, netting you a notebook with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage.

The A14’s Snapdragon X Plus chipset is particularly noteworthy, as its ARM-based architecture lends itself to power efficiency and long-lasting battery life. It also includes a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of at least 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS), which unlocks all existing and yet-to-come Copilot+ AI features from Microsoft.

Putting aside the processor, the Zenbook A14 also offers a vibrant and punchy 14-inch OLED display panel, built-in Windows Hello support, and a decent selection of I/O ports. Impressively, all this tech is stuffed within a package that weighs only 2.16lbs (0.98kg), owing to a chassis built from the premium and stylish ‘Ceraluminum’ material engineered by Asus.

With its slick chassis design and future-proofing in the form of Copilot+ certification from Microsoft, the Asus Zenbook A14 is a hard-to-resist proposition. At $400 off, the laptop punches well above its weight in terms of construction quality, aesthetic appeal, and computational power. Its efficient processor is a battery life champ, and its lightweight construction makes for an ideal backpack pal.

While some sacrifices are made on the display front in order to achieve its alluring price point (namely, an unremarkable 60Hz refresh rate and an equally unimpressive 1080p full HD resolution), its use of OLED technology is a genuine ace card here, making for a content consumption experience that absolutely pops with color.
