Stellantis triggers a large recall campaign in France which concerns 237,992 vehicles produced between 2023 and 2025 and equipped with the 1.2 EB2 Gen-3 engine (the PureTech replacement). The manufacturer evokes a power line problem: at the level of the high pressure pipe between the pump and the injection ramp, nuts can be insufficiently tight, or even absent, depending on a reminder, which can cause a fuel leak and, in the worst case, a fire departure. The owners receive or will receive a letter and are invited to make an appointment with their dealer for an intervention taken in charge by the manufacturer.

Many affected brands but a problem that is easily corrected

The corrective is simple and quick: control and tightening of the fittings (nuts of the high pressure pipe and the injection ramp). The operation takes less than half an hour in the workshop, at no cost for the customer. Alert signs exist in the event of an anomaly: smell of petrol, engine light and overconsumption.

The recall affects eight brands of the group. At the head, Peugeot concentrates most of the volumes, in front of Citroën, then Opel, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Lancia. The targeted models cover both city and compact and recent SUVs, including 100 hp hybrid variations and 136 hp from 1.2 EB2 Gen-3. Below, the precise distribution by brand and by model.

DS DS3 II; DS4 II 5 932
Fiat Great Panda; 600 7 184
Jeep Avenger 3 167
Alfa Romeo Junior 2 108
Lancia Ypsilon 378
Total France 237 992

A reminder that does not affect France

Beyond the French market, the United Kingdom reports a twin campaign with approximately 72,000 vehicles covering 28 models (Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot, Vauxhall), for the same technical cause and the same remedy. Local authorities evoke a handful of fire incidents identified in France, which is at the origin of the wide spectrum preventive recall.

This recall comes while the 1.2 EB2 Gen-3, inaugurated in 2023 and called to turn the page of PureTech, promised increased reliability (chain distribution, light hybridization). The failure pointed out here is not structural to the engine itself but proceeds from a defect in assembly on a fuel driving: Reminderso mentions “the absence of a nut” on certain series, when the site The Argus speaks of an insufficient tightening torque, two descriptions which converge towards the same consequence: high pressure driving likely to flee.

For the owners, the procedure is simple: not to ignore the symptoms, to contact the brand’s concession without delay, and have the vehicle checked. The intervention is free, short, and supervised by the regulations. The reminder sheets published on August 15, 2025 confirm the official reason and systematically refer to the appointment with the network. In case of doubt, the online tools of brands allow wine control.
