Sketch is out with a new update today featuring support for Liquid Glass-like effects, complete with blur, distortion, depth, and chromatic aberration controls. Here’s what it looks like.
New glass effects feature a full set of custom controls
Although Sketch is still working on its macOS Tahoe 26 redesign, the company is releasing Barcelona, its second 2025 update.
Alongside styling, libraries and components, and performance improvements, Sketch Barcelona (2025.2.1) brings a new glass effect, which can be found under a new Effects section of the Inspector.
In it, users can either choose the default settings, which apply a frosted glass effect, or adjust the following parameters independently:
- Blur
- Distortion
- Depth
- Chromatic Aberration
- Brightness
- Saturation
- Specular Highlights
The new update also brings helpful styling and design features such as a concentric corners tool, progressive blurs and progressive alpha, and an updated Apple UI library with macOS 26 and iOS 26 assets and elements.
Sketch 2025.2.1 requires macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later, and you can find the full changelog on the Barcelona update page.
