Heather Wheeler and Joanie Demer were two side-hustlin’ stay-at-home moms living paycheck-to-paycheck when they began couponing.
The pair started to blog about their money-saving hacks and it soon turned into the money advice platform, thekrazycouponlady.
Now they share when to head to your store if you’re after a certain product that keeps flying off the shelf, so you have first dibs on it.
Marshalls
The store typically restocks the shelves on Mondays and Fridays to prepare for the weekend rush.
That means your best bet for finding fresh stuff is to shop at Marshalls on Friday evening or first thing Saturday morning.
Walmart
The supermarket chain generally restocks most merchandise every 3 to 5 days.
Walmart stocks its shelves overnight (from about 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. at the latest) — so if you’re looking for a specific item, you should shop first thing in the morning, around 7 a.m.
The Walmart restock schedules can vary by location, so you’ll need to call your local store to ask.
Best Buy
Most Best Buy stores restock the shelves on a Tuesday morning, making Tuesday afternoon the best time to go.
This doesn’t always apply to popular new products, like the latest editions of the PlayStation or Xbox.
These items usually have limited stock, so you’ll want to call your local Best Buy if you’re searching for something specific.
Dollar Tree
Our Dollar Tree deal finders report that their Dollar Tree stores get a new shipment of products every Thursday. As for when the items actually hit the shelves, it depends on your store (and their staffing).
For fresh clearance markdowns, you can generally expect them the day after a major holiday.
Aldi
With a new Aldi weekly ad coming out each Wednesday (for most stores), Wednesday morning tends to be the best time to find the biggest selection of new Aldi Finds.
Employees tend to restock shelves the night before, so if you go on Tuesday evenings you might get first dibs on dupes and garden buys.
While most stores do their weekly ad in the middle of the week, some start it on a Sunday, so check when your store does it.

Walmart’s secret shopper policy
SOME retailers have hired so-called secret shoppers to go undercover and review the customer experience for market research.
However, Walmart has taken a strict stance against the programs.
Walmart’s corporate website explains, “Mystery shopping, sometimes referred to as secret shopping, is where an individual’ acts’ like a customer and evaluates services at a business.
“Walmart does not utilize these services or hire associates to perform services on behalf of other retailers or companies.
However, scammers take advantage of these types of programs by sending fraudulent solicitations via mail, text, or email to entice consumers to evaluate the retail experience.
Often times these offers of employment are accompanied by a fake check made out for a large amount of money or otherwise offer immediate employment with a good salary and minimal effort required.”
