On personal iPhones, users can decide whether they want Apple Intelligence to connect to ChatGPT. But on corporate devices, things can be trickier. That’s why Apple is reportedly adding support for enterprise accounts, but in a way that extends beyond its current OpenAI partnership. Here are the details.

As reported by News, with the upcoming iOS 26 update, Apple will add “the ability to configure the use of an enterprise version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT,” which offers different privacy settings, higher usage limits, as well as extra features such as company data integration.

Interestingly, News says that this enterprise integration has been developed with modularity in mind:

“Apple’s support documents indicate that IT administrators will be able to restrict or allow any ‘external’ artificial intelligence provider, not just OpenAI’s technology.”

In other words, the system could theoretically allow integration with other AI companies that offer Enterprise accounts, such as Anthropic, Google, and Microsoft.

It is worth noting that Apple hasn’t publicly announced partnerships and system integrations beyond the current OpenAI end-user deal.

And the report doesn’t stop there. News also says that :

“In addition to letting businesses pick and choose which AI features to enable, this setup allows businesses to decide whether employees’ AI requests can go to ChatGPT’s cloud service, even when the business doesn’t have its own enterprise deal with OpenAI.”

Finally, News’s report also details further changes and improvements to Apple’s business capabilities for device management, including new APIs for IT tool integration, new Device Management migration tools, and refinements to its Return to Service solution.
