Elon Musk has announced that he wants to “simulate” software companies such as Microsoft with only artificial intelligence. He even has a name for the new company: Macrohard.
Musk said in a post post that his AI -startup, Xai, a “Pure ai -software company is called, Macrohard”.
“It is a tongue-in-cheek name, but the project is very real!” he said. “In principle, given that software companies such as Microsoft themselves do not produce physical hardware, it should be possible to fully simulate them with AI.”
Musk did not give any more details and a spokesperson for Xai did not return a request for comments. A Microsoft spokesperson did not respond to a request for comments.
Brent Mayo, an engineer who worked for Xai, has retweeted the post of Musk.
GROK, Musk’s AI, responded to comments about X and said that AI theoretically could replicate the “full operations” of Microsoft from coding to management, adding that the company is now taking.
Documents from the Patent and Trademark Office of the United States also show that a figure for “Macrohard” was submitted by Xai on 1 August.
Doug Rettew, a trademark lawyer that is in the application, has not returned a request for comments.
The application mentions a wide range of AI-oriented goods and services for Macrohard, including “downloadable computer software for the artificial production of human speech and text” and “downloadable computer software for designing, coding, performing and playing video games using artificial intelligence.”
Macrohard would be added to Musk’s long line -up of companies, which he partially possesses or works. At the moment, Musk is at the same time leading Tesla, Xai, X Corp, The Boring Company, SpaceX and Neuralink.
The founding of Macrohard also comes as Musk pushes further to AI and Robotics, including encouraging Tesla to invest in Xai. In a win of 2024, Musk said that those who think of Tesla only as a car company ‘keep the wrong framework’, and Tesla called an ‘AI Robotics Company’.
Musk is also increasingly emphasizing projects such as Robotaxis and Humanoid Robots.
