While we are still eagerly waiting for the iPhone 17 series to arrive, iPhone 18 lineup have already started creating buzz. Apple is expected to launch iPhone 18 is 2026, reported to bring a unique update that could influence how people use the camera. This change could be one of the major reasons for iPhone owners to consider upgrading their device.

A New Camera Control Button in iPhone 18

The biggest highlight being discussed is the Camera Control button, which first appeared in the iPhone 16 series. This special button works not just as a shutter key but also responds to finger gestures, making photography more interactive. Initially, there were rumours that Apple might drop this feature entirely. However, new leaks suggest the button is here to stay, only in a simpler and more affordable form.

Why Apple is Redesigning the Camera Button in iPhone 18

As per reports, the current Camera Button in iPhones is costly to produce as it combines both capacitive and pressure sensitive components. Apple is reported to remove the capacitive part from the iPhone 18 and make it fully pressure based.

Additionally, this redesign would still allow users to tap, long-press, and swipe for camera functions, but it will cut down on production and repair costs for Apple.

iPhone 18 Launch Date May Change

Reportedly, Apple is expected to change the launch timeline for its iPhoe 18 series, unveiling only the iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026. However, the standard iPhone 18 and the new addition iPhone 18e could be launch in March 2027.

This staggered release strategy is believed to help Apple boost sales by keeping consumer interest alive across different quarters.

Even before the iPhone 17 hits stores, the iPhone 18 series has become a hot topic in the tech world. The redesigned Camera Control button may not sound like a major change at first, but it reflects Apple’s effort to balance innovation with cost efficiency.
