Samsung has been on a roll lately when it comes to hardware events. And the company is not done yet. It has already announced this year’s new foldables, but it still has some stuff in the chamber—its newest hardware is coming next week, so get ready.
Samsung has announced that its next hardware event is happening on Thursday, September 4th, at 5:30 AM ET. That’s a little early for us folks on this side of the globe, but it should be right around the evening in South Korea, where Samsung is based out of. The event is set to be livestreamed on Samsung’s website as well as on Samsung’s official YouTube channel.
As for what we’ll see during this event, Samsung’s teaser for it is surprisingly generic and doesn’t seem to have any references to the hardware it’s about to launch. But Samsung is giving out a $50 credit so you can “reserve the next Galaxy Tab device,” so I have a hunch it’s probably tablets. Samsung’s range of Galaxy Tab S11 tablets has been rumored for quite a while, and this is the time we will probably be seeing them launch. We’re still also awaiting to see Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy G Fold tri-fold device, and while Samsung might choose to shake everything up and announce it right here, that will probably be reserved for a later event—though I wouldn’t entirely rule out at least a teaser, the same way Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge back when it announced the Galaxy S25 family of phones earlier this year. A man can dream.
We’ve seen a lot more Unpacked hardware events by Samsung than usual. We saw one at the beginning of this year for the S25 family, then another one for the Galaxy S25 Edge, and then one more for the newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. This would be the fourth event this year, and if Samsung decides to launch its tri-fold foldable by the end of this year, as it previously said it wanted to do (and if it doesn’t announce it next week), we would be up to five events. That’s crazy.
Most years, we just have two events—one for the flagship Galaxy S phones, and one for the foldables. Samsung really only holds hardware events for its flagship phones and tablets, and tablets are usually lumped into either the first or the second event (or just quietly launched without any hardware event). We might occasionally see a third one if Samsung has a special announcement, which isn’t every day.
If you want to get a new Samsung tablet, make sure to claim your credit by going to Samsung’s website. You must place your reserve by September 3rd, and you must place your pre-order/purchase between September 4th and October 5th.
