The main evolution concerns mechanics: the model performance claims 460 horsepower, allowing it to shoot 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, against 4.8 s for the large autonomy model. Tesla also promises an autonomy of 580 km according to the WLTP cycle and an always competent charging time: 243 km recovered in fifteen minutes on a supercharger. The manufacturer indicates using new high -voltage cells, without specifying the exact battery capacity.
An electric SUV that muscles its game
But the update is not limited to motorization. Outside, the SUV adopts “Arachnid 2.0” rims of 21 inch and redesigned front and rear shields, the more aggressive pace of which we will appreciate. The cabin also evolves: the central screen is slightly enlarged (16 inches against 15.4 previously), the definition improves, the front seats are now equipped with adjustable extensions for the thighs and specific badges remind the brand’s sports signature.
In terms of road behavior, Tesla incorporates a revised suspension with piloted shock absorbers, which have already been noticed on the recent “L” version. A new driving mode called “Stability Assist Mode” allows you to adjust the level of grip between three options: standard, reduced or off, depending on the driving style or the type of terrain. A way to balance between security and thrills.

The European launch of the Model Performance is not trivial. Tesla has been going through an extremely difficult period on the old continent: sales have been diving for several months, while registrations for electric vehicles are progressing overall. In some countries like Norway, the brand remains popular, but elsewhere the dynamics are much less favorable. The toxic image of Elon Musk tarnishes Tesla’s reputation with part of the consumers.

By focusing on a sporting version, more expensive but with high margin, the manufacturer hopes to attract passionate customers and improve its short -term financial results. The Model 3 Performance had been unanimously praised by the first drivers, and Tesla hopes to reproduce this success with a family SUV.
Displayed from € 61,990, the Model Performance is positioned nearly € 10,000 above the large autonomy version, in exchange for a cocktail of power and unpublished equipment. Faced with competitors such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Tesla seeks to keep its advance on the field of electric sportsmen.
