WANT to save a bit of cash and enjoy TV for free rather than paying for it?

Well, you don’t have to do anything unlawful. There are loads of legal ways to unlock a treasure trove of free telly on your Amazon Fire TV Stick.

There is a catch though.

Most of the apps that serve up free telly are known as FAST apps.

FAST has nothing to do with speed. It stands for free ad-supported streaming television.

There’s your clue: these free TV apps depend on showing you ads, so you’ll have to put up with regular commercials.

However, the cheapest tiers of paid-for apps like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video all show you ads too.

And you’re actually forking out money for those every month.

So if you’re fine to watch a few ads, there’s plenty of great telly on offer on your Fire Stick.

FREE FIRE STICK TV APP #1 – Tubi

First up is Tubi, which is one of the best-known FAST apps.

It’s got loads of free movies and shows available on-demand.

The US version has live channels, but they’re not available in the UK app right now.

But it has a vast library of content, plus some Tubi Originals across a range of genres.

FREE FIRE STICK TV APP #2 – Pluto TV

Another great option is Pluto TV.

Again, it’s totally free no matter which type of content you want to watch.

It has a large catalogue of on-demand movies and TV shows.

And it also serves up more than 100 live TV channels, so it’s a great alternative to Freeview.

Pluto TV even has a British Screen Classics channel, which serves up comedy, horror, war, drama, adventure, and romance – all from the UK.

FREE FIRE STICK TV APP #3 – Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is probably the most famous way to watch anime on TV.

It’s not totally free (though the app doesn’t cost anything to download).

In fact, the bulk of the content is locked behind the Premium subscription plan.

But there’s still a very generous selection of free content on the app.

Many of the shows allow you to watch the first season for free.

Crunchyroll also rotates fresh content into this free selection regularly.

And you can also bag a seven-day free trial if you’re tempted by the more premium content.

FREE FIRE STICK TV APP #4 – FilmRise

FilmRise promises more than 10,000 hours of free movies and TV.

It has loads of iconic TV shows like Hell’s Kitchen, Cheaters, and even the very classic The Dick Van Dyke Show.

If you’re a fan of watching retro movies and telly, you’ll have a great time with FilmRise.

FREE FIRE STICK TV APP #5 – Plex

Lastly, there’s Plex.

It started life as a way for you to watch videos you’d saved to a computer on a TV.

But it now serves as a proper TV streaming service, with shows, movies, and live channels too.

It has one of the biggest content catalogues out of the FAST apps in the UK, so it’s worth a go.

And it’s certainly cheaper than paying for Netflix.
