94% of Spanish companies have undergone phishing or visging attacks promoted by AI

AI is filling the digital ecosystem with uncertainties and threats. In fact, according to the report Identity Security Landscape 2025 of the Cyberk identity security company, Invisible identities driven by AI (Services accounts, Bots, IAO Development Pipelines) agents) They access sensitive data without supervision or adequate controlswhich makes them the new most relevant risk vector.

The report highlights that 94% of Spanish companies have suffered phishing or visging attacks, many of them reinforced by Deepfake techniques. In addition, 60% of organizations have suffered these attacks more than once, and the privileged access of AI agents adding to the risk posed by these attacks.

99% of Spanish companies, according to Cybrark, have adopted AI tools. But 40% believe that these technologies increase their level of risk, and 39% have launched measures to protect their use by employees.

To protect yourself from these attacks enhanced by AI, Cyberark recommends adopting a security approach focused on identity, both for humans and for digital identities. This implies ensuring the privileges and accesses of AI agents, such as bots, generative models and automated workflows. It is also important to implement advanced solution management of privileged access integrated with AI and automation capabilities, in order to prevent complex threats and climb protection.

Albert Barnwell, Sales Director of Cyberark Iberiapoints out that «We are at a turning point in cybersecurity: it is no longer just about protecting people, but also to control the thousands of digital identities that operate in the background. Organizations that do not adopt a security strategy focused on identity will be exposed to increasingly sophisticated risks, especially in an environment where AI acts with more privileges than ever. Therefore it is urgent that companies become aware and reinforce their safety before these invisible threats become real gaps«.
