A SMARTPHONE case maker appears to have let slip the iPhone 17’s major redesign days before the official release.

Apple is notoriously secretive about its big product launches – but all is expected to be finally revealed on Tuesday.

Rumours suggest a new iPhone 17 Air is coming tooCredit: Dbrand

However, there have been a number of reported leaks this year and case retailer Dbrand has just added to the speculation.

The firm has decided to break ranks and start selling its cases early.

A cheeky message on their website says “Sorry, Tim” referring to Apple’s chief Tim Cook.

The images appear to show four iPhone 17 models with some very different designs on the way if true.

Both iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models appear to sport a fresh camera layout on the back.

While there are still three cameras on it, the sensors, flash and rear microphone are distanced, creating a completely horizontal camera bump as opposed to the rounded square on the iPhone 16.

The leak also suggests there will be an iPhone 17 Air once again, with fewer cameras and therefore a slimmer camera bump.

As for the rumoured base iPhone 17, that’s thought to come with two cameras on the back housed in a small pill-like shape instead much like the existing iPhone 16.

Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what Apple unveils next week but these latest indications build on existing leaks that have been doing the rounds.

Rumour has it there won’t just be iPhones on show.

There could be new Apple Watches, AirPods, Apple TV and maybe even an Apple HomePod with Display.

The Sun will be on the ground reporting from the event on September 9 as it all unfolds from 6pm BST / 1pm ET.

iPhone tricks to try today

Here are some of the best…

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
  • Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen (or swipe left to right on an iPhone X or later model), then tap in the bar and type a currency (like $200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
  • Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
  • Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
