Preemptive cyber defense startup Silent Push Inc. announced today that it has raised $10 million in new funding to accelerate innovation, global expansion and customer momentum.
Founded in 2020 by former FireEye Inc. Vice President Ken Bagnall and FireEye Research Labs Director John Jensen, Silent Push specializes in preemptive threat intelligence through what the company calls “Indicators of Future Attack.” The indicators allow security teams to see attacker infrastructure and behavior before it’s fully weaponized, including domain and DNS infrastructure changes, certificate usage, WHOIS data and related contextual signals.
The company offers a scanning and aggregation engine that tracks changes across IPv4 and IPv6 spaces globally and uses first-party live DNS data, web content scans, certificate scans and WHOIS information to build up signals. Silent Push then applies behavioral fingerprinting of attacker tactics, techniques and procedures to detect patterns that suggest emerging campaigns or malicious infrastructure.
The ability to map and proactively track the ever-changing threat infrastructure security teams face daily empowers them to quickly block attacks, defend against the known global threats, and proactively address what is lurking in the unknown before it can cause damage, according to the company.
Silent Push helps organizations with threat hunting, brand protection (phishing, spoofing, malvertising), monitoring their own external attack surface (public DNS, domains, subdomains, certificate configurations) and spotting misconfigurations and drift in their internet-facing assets.
Results from the company’s automated intelligence solutions can also be fed into existing security tools, giving teams more timely and accurate context, reducing false positives and improving detection ahead of attacks.
“We believe every organization deserves to be equipped with the data and tools needed to defend themselves against known threats and emerging campaigns,” said Chief Executive Bagnall.
The Series B round was led by StepStone Group Inc., with Ten Eleven and Knollwood Investment Advisory also participating.
The funding will also drive Silent Push’s expansion as the company continues to reach key milestones and accelerate growth. In one example, Silent Push recently announced a strategic partnership with CyberLion Ltd., a cybersecurity distributor specializing in enterprise and government-grade defense solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The new funding takes the total amount raised by Silent Push to $32 million, including a $10 million round in June 2023.
