Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the most expensive model in the S11 series, with a starting price of £1,349/$1,199.99 for the smallest 256GB model and rising to £1,699/$1,619.99 for the 1TB model.
As it’s the older of the two, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is slightly cheaper and has a starting RRP of £1199/$1199 for the 256GB model, which rises to £1549/$1619 for the 1TB tablet.
Although both the Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra come with an S Pen, you’ll need to buy the Book Cover Keyboard separately. However, unlike the Surface Pro 13, this isn’t a necessary purchase, as the tablet is still usable without it.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has a redesigned S Pen
As mentioned earlier, both the Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra come equipped with an S Pen, although the Tab S11 Ultra’s has undergone a redesign. The newly redesigned S Pen is found across the entire Galaxy Tab S11 series and promises to offer improved comfort and control for both writing and drawing.

Tab S11’s S Pen has a new cone-shaped pen tip, which supports increased tilt angles, while its hexagonal design offers a more natural feel in the hand. While we’re yet to review the S11 series, we did note in our hands-on with the product that the new S Pen feels “substantially lighter”.
Finally, the S Pen no longer magnetically attaches to the rear of the tablet and now snaps onto the long side of the tablet, similar to the iPad Pro. This is a welcome change, as it means the S Pen will no longer get in the way when you’re using the Tab S11 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra runs on the Dimensity 9400+ chip
Last year’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, which we found offered lightning-fast performance and could even handle high-end gaming without overheating or lagging. However, it’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra fell short in our benchmarking tests compared to the similarly priced iPad Pro M4.
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, on the other hand, runs on the upgraded MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, which Samsung promises offers “faster processing, smoother multitasking and more responsive AI features”.
We’ll have to wait until we review the tablet to confirm Samsung’s claims; however, we expect the Tab S11 Ultra to offer a similar experience to its predecessor. Although benchmark scores might be lower than Apple’s iPads, real-world use will be fast and responsive.

Both have a 14.6-inch display
Arguably the main reason to opt for the Tab Ultra models is their 14.6-inch displays. Last year’s Tab S10 Ultra’s display is equipped with a range of premium screen technologies, including AMOLED for vibrant colours, HDR10+ support, and a 16:10 aspect ratio, which makes it well-suited for streaming.
The Tab S11 Ultra’s display boasts a few upgrades from its already impressive predecessor, including a boosted 1600 nits peak brightness, which is a huge upgrade from the Tab S10 Ultra’s 930 nits and even bests the iPad Pro’s 1000 nits.
Otherwise, the Tab S11 Ultra also benefits from an updated Samsung DeX experience, which promises to turn the tablet into a true laptop alternative. Essentially, DeX within the Tab S11 series allows you to move and resize app windows alongside the option to create up to four separate workspaces too.
Samsung explains that one workspace can be dedicated to work, another for creative projects and a third for planning a trip.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has two front-facing cameras
Sure, photography prowess is never the main reason anyone buys a tablet, but a decent front camera system is especially useful for making video calls and taking the odd selfie. Perhaps surprisingly, last year’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra boasts two front-facing lenses, whereas this year’s S11 Ultra only sports one.
The Tab S10 Ultra is fitted with dual 12MP main and ultrawide lenses, which are housed within a small notch at the top of the screen. Not only does this differentiate the Tab S10 Ultra from the Tab S11 Ultra, which features only one 12MP front lens, but it’s also the only Galaxy Tab to boast dual lenses.
With this in mind, if you plan to use your tablet for video calls, Zoom meetings, or presentations, then the Tab S10 Ultra may be a better fit for you.
Early Verdict
With an updated processor, a brighter AMOLED panel, and a significantly more useful DeX experience, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is a promising upgrade from its predecessor, the Tab S10 Ultra.
However, as the Tab S10 Ultra is slightly cheaper, includes dual selfie lenses, and still offers a solid Android tablet experience, then last year’s flagship might be a better choice for you.
We’ll be sure to update this comparison with a more conclusive verdict once we review the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
