China had 17.35 million electric vehicle (EV) charging connectors installed nationwide by the end of August 2025, according to data released by the National Energy Administration. The figure marks a 53.5 percent increase from a year earlier. Of the total, 4.32 million are public charging connectors, up 37.8 percent, with a combined rated capacity of 196 gigawatts and an average output of 45.5 kilowatts. Private charging connectors grew faster, reaching 13.03 million, up 59.6 percent year-on-year, with a connected electricity capacity of 115 gigavolt-amperes. [TechNode reporting]
