The most common complaint right now is about battery life. Quite a few users say their iPhones are running out of charge quicker than before after installing the update. Some say their devices heat up more quickly, while others complain of sudden drops in battery health.

Apple has addressed this, saying it’s normal for a phone to use extra power after a major update as the system finishes background processes like indexing and app updates. The company suggests things should stabilise after a few days. Still, for now, users are frustrated.
iOS 26: Confusing Design
iOS 26 also brings new design elements, but not everyone is happy about them. Some users feel Apple is making unnecessary cosmetic changes without improving functionality. A common complaint is that the update “feels the same as before” but adds clutter. On Reddit and X, many pointed out that Safari’s redesign feels confusing, and the new “visual style” doesn’t sit well with dark mode users.
One new feature grabbing attention is the horizontal lock screen clock. When the phone is placed sideways in low light, the screen shows a large red digital clock. While Apple intended it as a convenience, users online are calling it “creepy” and “unnecessary,” especially when it appears at night.
Not everything is negative, though. Some iPhone users like the small quality-of-life improvements, such as the charging screen showing time-to-80% and better performance on newer devices. Others believe most of the issues will settle once people adjust to the changes.
