Insta360 has released the Wave, an AI-powered omnidirectional microphone and speaker. The device is designed as an audio hub for office use, combining microphone, speaker, and AI transcription functions.
Wave features eight MEMS microphones with up to 5-meter pickup range, 48kHz sampling, and noise cancellation trained on over 300 environmental sounds. It supports five directional modes, including omnidirectional for group meetings and figure-8 for interviews. The “floating” design places the speaker above the touchscreen to extend the echo path and reduce vibration noise from the desk. The device also comes with 32GB of storage for up to 1,000 hours of MP3 audio at standard quality and a 9,800mAh battery for long recording sessions.
Powered by DeepSeek and Qwen, two large language models developed in China, Wave can transcribe recordings, separate speakers, and generate meeting notes. It also integrates with Insta360’s Link 2 webcam for automatic audio-video alignment. Insta360 has previously launched AI conferencing products including the Connect and Link series.
