Meta is rolling out a new feature called “Vibes” inside the Meta AI app and on meta.ai – and it’s already sparking reactions online. The feed is essentially Meta’s answer to TikTok and Instagram Reels, but with one big twist: every video is AI-generated. The new feature was announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in an Instagram post showcasing examples of what Vibes can do. One clip showed Mark’s Disney-style 3D avatar, while another had a cat kneading dough. A third video portrayed an ancient Egyptian woman snapping a selfie against the backdrop of pyramids. news Also Read: Meta Accidentally Leaks Ray-Ban Display Glasses With Built-in HUD And sEMG Wristband

According to Meta, users can either create videos from scratch or remix content they see on their feed. The editing tools let you layer visuals, change styles, add background music, and then post directly to the Vibes feed or cross-share to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels. Over time, the feed will adapt to individual preferences using Meta’s algorithms.

Behind the scenes, Meta has partnered with Midjourney and Black Forest Labs to power the early version of Vibes, though the company says it is also developing its own in-house AI video models. Meta’s Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang confirmed the collaborations in a blog post.

While the feature highlights Meta’s ambitions in AI, the reception hasn’t been all that positive. Users on Zuckerberg’s announcement post mocked the rollout, with one popular comment reading: “Bro’s posting AI slop on his own app.” Another simply added, “I think I speak for everyone when I say: What….?”

The timing is especially notable since platforms like YouTube are moving to curb the flood of low-quality AI content. Earlier this year, Meta itself warned creators against posting “unoriginal” content and urged them to focus on authentic storytelling – a message that seems at odds with this new launch.

Still, the rollout of Vibes reflects Meta’s larger strategy of doubling down on AI amid tough competition from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind.
