Infrastructure in telecommunications are always constantly changing and evolution, preparing the land for the advances of the rest of technologies that will impact both citizens and public administrations in day to day.

Thus, in the coming years in Spain, great advances focused on three large points will be experienced. On the one hand, between 2025 and 2026 the Progressive off of 2g and 3g networks. In addition, in parallel, we will live the consolidation of 5G and its evolution in the familiar known as 5.5G. Finally, the industry is already laying the bases for the 6G, scheduled to begin to deploy around 2030, promising transmission speeds up to 100 times higher than 5G and a total integration with artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.

The preparation of this infrastructure and the adoption of all these changes not only imply a technological challenge, but also a strategic opportunity To position Spain as a new generation connectivity leader. Thus, Zelenza, a company specialized in Integrated ICT and Networking Services Telco, explains which will be the most important changes that will be lived in the coming years and how the new telecommunication networks will impact our lives.

1. Immersive connectivity for the citizen

The arrival of the 5.5G network will have as its first improvements the increase in discharge and loading speeds, a lower latency in communications and, above all, an improvement in device interconnections and the beginning of a deepest integration with artificial intelligence tools. Thus, we can see advances in communications, such as holographic video calls or augmented and virtual reality in real time. This will open the door to new forms of leisure, more interactive distance education and collaborative work environments that will not depend on the physical location. It will be possible to attend virtual classes in 3D recreated virtual reality environments, or allow a sports fan to follow a competition from any angle, even assuming the participants’ point of view.

2. Advanced Telemedicine and Connected Health

The low latency and the high reliability of these networks will make possible the telecirugia assisted by robots, remotely monitor chronic patients and the instantaneous transmission of high -resolution medical images. This will reduce diagnostic times, will allow distance interventions, will help avoid unnecessary consultations, will relieve pressure in health centers, reduce waiting lists … In addition, all this will also improve attention in rural or difficult access areas, where today connectivity is an obstacle, democratizing access to diagnostic tools and the most advanced treatments.

3. Industry 4.0 and total automation

5.5g and 6G will boost smart factories where machinery, robots and control systems will be interconnected and managed in real time. This will allow more flexible production, less stop by maintenance and an optimization of energy resources. Sectors such as automotive, aeronautics or the manufacture of electronic components can benefit from ultra -granted private networks to coordinate critical processes.

4. Smart cities and efficient public administration

Administrations may manage traffic, lighting, waste collection and citizen security predictively and automated. New generation networks will allow video surveillance in ultra high definition, sensors to detect real -time incidents and immediate emergency response systems.

5. Data centers and Spain as technological hub

Spain, and in particular the region of Aragon, have established themselves as a strategic node of data centers in Europe. These facilities require high capacity networks and low latency to manage the massive flow of information that supports cloud services, artificial intelligence and streaming platforms. The 5.5g and 6G deployment will be essential to maintain competitiveness, attract international investment and guarantee the security and resilience of digital infrastructure.
