Ever board your flight and realize you’ve forgotten to download enough entertainment? Delta wants to modernize its choices on seatback screens, and now it’s offering YouTube alongside its movies and TV shows.

However, this won’t be the full YouTube experience. Instead it’s a selection of ad-free videos from its platform, including content from creators like Kinigra Deon, Mel Robbins, Michelle Khare, Mother Goose Club, MrBeast, Nick DiGiovanni, and more.

Delta’s says the content will include comedy, culture, lifestyle, and travel topics. The brand says these creators, among others, will be providing podcasts, alongside videos, and you can also access YouTube music playlists.

It says there will be dozens of playlists at launch. The boarding music for Delta flights will also change to a new instrumental track which plays through YouTube Music as you take your seat.

If you connect your own gadgets to the in-flight Wi-Fi, you’ll also now get a 14-day free trial of YouTube Premium. It’s currently unclear if this will be available for those who have already used a Premium trial or subscribed before.

YouTube’s rollout to Delta flights is underway, and it’ll eventually be coming to all flights. Delta has yet to share when it expects its rollout to be complete.

Announced alongside the YouTube partnership at CES 2025, Delta has big plans to modernize the entertainment experience for passengers. One element includes more personalized recommendations. For example, if you watch blockbuster movies on one trip, you may find the entertainment service suggests similar movies when you next board a flight.

New aircraft from 2026 are also expected to bring 4K HDR QLED displays across the whole aircraft for an improved viewing experience as well as better Bluetooth connectivity for all screens. It also plans to include larger storage systems on flights so it can offer more entertainment options.

At CES 2025, the brand also introduced its Delta Concierge service that is an AI-powered personal assistant designed to make your travel experience easier. Examples shown by Delta included the assistant suggesting a taxi service when the passenger landed at their destination.
