Chinese battery manufacturer CATL responded to a fire incident at one of its production facilities, where a fire broke out in an independent building within the Dongqiao plant at the company’s Ningde base in China’s Fujian Province yesterday afternoon. CATL promptly detected the fire and took action to extinguish the flames, with no casualties reported, according to the company; the cause is still under investigation. The number of affected products is relatively small, and the impact on the company’s production and operations is minimal, the company added. The Dongqiao Ningde Z base, where the fire occurred, is one of the company’s core battery plants that produces batteries supplied to several new energy vehicle manufacturers, including Tesla.
