A BRAND new sports channel is launching in the UK – and it’s going to be totally free.
It’s landing on one of the most popular free telly services, and will be available on a wide range of devices.

The channel is called Pluto Snooker 900, and it’s exclusive to Pluto TV.
If you’re not familiar with Pluto TV, it’s a “FAST” channel – or free ad-supported streaming television.
That means you have to sit through ads, but you don’t pay a penny to watch the content.
The new Pluto Snooker 900 channel is available from Monday, October 6.
And it’ll be available to snooker fans (and anyone else) in the UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Pluto TV says that the channel will initially broadcast 18 hours of live snooker each week.
And the TV giant boasted that it is “the first dedicated snooker channel of its kind”.
It’s also the new home of Snooker 900, which is a shorter “high-octane” 15-minute format “built for today’s streaming generation”.
That includes just 15 minutes on the table, a 20-second shot clock, ball in hand for fouls, and “sudden-death” blue ball shootouts to handle ties.
In the launch week, Pluto will be showing snooker legends including Jimmy White, Ken Doherty, and Michaela Tabb.
And the channel is also supported English snooker giant Ronnie O’Sullivan.
“Snooker has been my whole life, but sometimes I look around and wonder where the next bright, young superstar is going to come from,” snooker legend Ronnie said.
“Young players don’t always get the chance to play under the lights or in front of the cameras, and that’s why Snooker 900 is so important.
“This channel gives them a proper stage, whether it’s women, juniors or disabled players, and puts real money back into the amateur game.

“For me, it’s about giving back and helping to inspire the next generation while showing fans a faster, more exciting way to enjoy the sport.”
The weekly 18 hours of live snooker will run from Monday to Wednesday.
And it’ll air between 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 10pm UK time.
Outside of those times, the channel will showcase classic matches from the snooker archives.
