AMERICAN telly giant Hulu is landing in the UK as early as next week.
Hulu will land on British shores inside an existing app that rivals Netflix, Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video.

From October 8, Hulu will start rolling out inside Disney+.
It’s going to replace the Star section that you currently see in the Disney+ app.
Hulu is a household name in America and is responsible for critically acclaimed telly like The Bear and Shogun, as well as Only Murders in the Building, Alien Earth, King of the Hill, and Futurama.
And now it’s finally set to arrive in the UK.
“The power and value of the Hulu brand will reach worldwide audiences beginning October 8, when it becomes the global General Entertainment brand on Disney+, replacing Star in international markets,” The Walt Disney Company explained.
“With this change, and in preparation for a fully integrated unified app experience next year, users will begin to see further integrations of Hulu across the Disney+ app as part of an ongoing and iterative slate of product updates on the homepage and beyond.
“This includes a series of design and navigation enhancements rolling out over the coming weeks and months – offering a more dynamic and intuitive experience.”
Hulu is owned by Disney Streaming, which is part of Disney Entertainment, itself a chunk of the Walt Disney Company.
And since launching in October 2007, it now has more than 55.5 million paid memberships.
As part of its arrival to the UK, Disney+ and Hulu will be getting a makeover.
“A new navigation bar has been added to the top of the homepage. The ‘For You’ tab is the first screen subscribers will see when they click into Disney+,” Disney said.
“It’s the new homebase for recommended viewing, powered by an updated algorithm that learns user preferences over time.
“There are also tabs for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, depending on the user’s subscription, making it easier to explore each catalog individually.”
If you click on the Live hub, you’ll be whisked straight into live news, sports, events, and 24/7 streams.
THE BIG CATCH – HIGHER BILLS
The downside is that Disney+ has hiked its prices in the UK this week…
The shock Disney+ price rise affects all plans:
For the Supported By Ads plan, you’ll now pay £5.99 a month – up £1.
Then for the Standard plan, you’ll owe £9.99 monthly – up £1.
And the Premium plan, the monthly bill is £14.99 – up £2.
Disney+ has also hiked the annual prices for the Standard and Premium plans by £10 and £20 respectively.

And Disney+ is getting extra badging tags too, including:
- Season Finale
- New Series
- New Movie
Disney says it has also been working on improving its algorithm to give you more personalised recommendations.
And it’s also going to make Profiles “more prominent” across the interface.
“The new design is more modern and intuitive so users can find and discover the characters and stories they love,” Disney explained.
“This includes a new video display in the Hero carousel and a more dynamic brand row, showcasing the latest titles from each brand.
“We’ve also updated our content sets to showcase more cinematic poster-style artwork.”
And the company said that it’s adding TV widgets to iOS for iPhone.

So you can quickly get to telly on your mobile with “one click”.
It’s not the only US TV giant making its way into the UK.
HBO Max is also preparing for a major UK launch in early 2026.
