Every week, Netflix unleashes a bunch of new content for viewers to stream. Watching all of it would take you more than seven days, so I start my Friday by recommending three top choices for the weekend and week to come. The first full week of October leans into spooky season hard, with the new season of Ryan Murphy’s Monster and cool-looking thrills from all over the globe.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Oct. 3)
Charlie Hunnam stars as one of the most influential serial killers of all time in Monster: The Ed Gein Story. For the latest season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series, we travel to Plainfield, Wisconsin, to meet a retiring farm boy living in his family home after the deaths of his parents. Oh, and he was kidnapping and murdering people and making furniture from their body parts. Can’t forget that part.
Néro the Assassin (Oct. 8)
Historical dramas often pump the production value to epic levels, and the new French series Néro the Assassin looks to keep that tradition going. The titular character is a killer in the employ of a 15th-century French nobleman who is betrayed by his boss just as he reunites with his estranged daughter. Now he needs to teach her the family business, get revenge, and make some tough choices along the way.

The Resurrected (Oct. 9)

But they’re not satisfied, and steal his body to have him resurrected for seven days to exact revenge on him and his criminal organization.
