Plural, a venture capital firm launched by prominent tech entrepreneurs, has announced the appointment of Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty (Pictured), a former Uber executive, as its new partner.

Gore-Coty spent 13 years at the global tech firm and held several roles including vice president of mobility and at one point leading the Uber Eats division globally. He joined Uber in 2012 as the general manager for France.

The Phasecraft investor has appointed Gore-Coty alongside the opening of its first office in Paris, extending its European footprint beyond its original bases of London and Tallinn.

“I am excited to kick off a new chapter focused on enabling Europe’s next wave of global champions. Since day one, I have been close to Plural and have been continually inspired by the calibre of its team,” Gore-Coty said.

“Now I am energised by the chance to support founders across Europe in building truly consequential businesses. I look forward to putting my experience scaling Uber to work for the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

Plural launched its first fund in 2022, supported by Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus, Songkick co-founder Ian Hogarth, former Bigpoint chief executive Khaled Heloui and Teleport co-founder Stem Tamkivi.

“Pierre embodies the exact operator profile that Europe’s most ambitious founders need by their side: deep scar tissue from scaling one of the world’s most demanding global businesses, coupled with an uncompromising execution bar,” Heloui said.

“His arrival at Plural reinforces our mission to create GDP-level impact in Europe and to back outlier founders who deserve more than just capital.”

Plural has become an active investor in UK startups including AI recruiter Metaview, crisis management platform Labrys and logistics startup Relay.
