According to Tinder’s latest Modern Dating Report, safety and authenticity are two things young daters in India care most about today. To solve the problem with some baby steps, Tinder has introduced a new safety feature – Face Check. It is basically to avoid the fake profiles and make sure that you are talking to a real person. “Safety features like Face Check add an important new tool to our arsenal against fake profiles, bots, and fraud so that people can focus on building meaningful connections,” Yoel Roth, Senior Vice President of Trust & Safety at Match Group, said in a blog post by Tinder.

Tinder Face Check: How Does It Work?
The new safety feature by Tinder, Face Check, is simply about video selfie verification while joining the app for the first time. Moreover, it will compare your selfies that are uploaded to your profile with the video during the verification. Once your photo matches with the video, it will get a photo verification badge. It adds an extra layer of security while ensuring that you are a real human, instead of a bot. The Face Check basically makes it easier for other users to trust you. Other Tinder Security Features
Apart from this, Tinder has several other safety tools in India, such as, ‘Are You Sure?’ and ‘Does This Bother You?’ use AI to detect harmful or inappropriate messages before they’re sent. The ‘Warnings’ feature alerts users when their chat might cross boundaries, while enhanced reporting tools make it easier to report suspicious or fake profiles.
Tinder has also started ID Verification in some regions to add another layer of authenticity, ensuring users can confidently connect with real people, not bots or scammers. With these ongoing updates, the app is clearly taking steps to make dating online feel safer — without losing the fun part of it.
